Pachanga e Boogaloo course in Florence

Almasabrosa organises pachanga and boogaloo courses in Firenze.

Many claim that one of the finest interpreters of pachanga was the singer and dancer James Brown. The boogaloo as a dance is normally interpreted with cha cha and pachanga or salsa/mambo steps.

In New York and Puerto Rico it is very much in fashion to add pachanga and boogaloo movements while dancing salsa/mambo, when the couple breaks apart to interpret the music with individual steps (open shines or pasitos).

The basic step of pachanga is called the brinquito, that is, an almost hopping step characterised by the syncopated transfer of body weight from one leg to the other.

In the Puerto Rican salsa courses, from the pre-advanced level onwards, we first explain the basic movements and steps of pachanga and gradually study more demanding sequences to be added when dancing with individual steps, with the possibility of playing with movements of the ankles, knees and hips, and of executing many variations in the steps in order to interpret the music when not dancing as a couple.

During the year, specific classes (workshops) are organised.
