She is the favorite woman of Changó, the mistress of the cemetery; she is also called Iyánsá, which means she is the mother who gave birth to nine children. She is the mistress of the strong wind, such as hurricanes and whirlwinds. She is the orisha whose Catholic counterpart is the Virgen de la Candelaria (the Purification of the Virgin), that is, Santa Teresita de Jesús, and the Virgen del Carmen.
